Aurora Choir Registration
For Singers in Grades 7+ (ages 12+)
Aurora Choir is a social, non-competitive, and joyful place to belong in a choir.
Where voices join in harmony, reaching new heights
Our eldest singers are held in high regard as leaders within our organization, and are offered opportunities to grow both musically and as well-rounded human beings part of a musical community. We meet each week and build on all different parts of musicianship that are introduced in Cantare Choir: healthy vocal technique, foundations of music, hand-held instruments, singing games, dancing, teamwork activities, and of course we perform at our own concerts, and in different places around our community.
Singers begin learning to sing in harmony and are offered increasing challenges to develop artistic skill. Aurora Choir will begin to travel to collaborate with other choirs and musicians locally, and a little further afield for workshops and to perform or participate in choral festivals. This choir builds on skills from Cantare Choir and ladders into adult choirs in the wider world, all the while providing musicians with well-rounded foundations in music education that can be applied to other disciplines such as Musical Theatre, musical instrument lessons, school band, voice lessons, solo performance, and more.
For Aurora Choir it is helpful if singers have spent time either in music lessons or with us in our other choirs, but prior experience is not required to join.
